HOME
I have not thought of Malaysia or Penang as my home in a long long time now. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't call Blackpool home if you paid me money. Or put a gun to my head.
I have a nice flat which is perfectly 10 minutes away from where I work and 15 minutes away from town centre (and 20 minutes away from the nearest Starbucks *roll eyes*). I have a ridiculously big tv, all the game consoles, a fridge 2 metres away from the big comfy couch, neighbours who are invinsible and quiet (I bought them from goodneighbours.co.uk) but...
Still not home.
To say I am homeless is insulting proper homeless people and I have whined enough today. Yes, sometimes I do know when to stop.
And if you can't find home, then find some family. People who you love and hate and care for. And people who make you feel happy and frustrated, who make you laugh and annoy you. People you want around you but banishable at times. Yea, a 5-year-old kid can do a better job explaining family but give me credit for trying please.
Some of my friends are thinking of leaving after finishing FY1. In a few months, they will be looking for new jobs and new places to live in. For some of these people, this place has never been home and never will be. Try again somewhere else.
Believe it or not some of them are family to me. If no home, no family - hmm, maybe it's time for change.
